Family Setup Geo Alerts = "People" vs" Devices"

I got a SE with Family Setup to track my daughter as she walks home from school. Any idea why, under FIND ME, it appears under DEVICES and not under her name in the PEOPLE tab? The PEOPLE tab looks to be tied to her iPad, which never leaves the house.

I would like to setup geolocation notifications for when she leaves school but that option is only available the People tab, not devices.

Sounds like your Daughter has to share her location with you, that way she'll appear under the People tab. If her iPad is showing there, then it'll be the default device which is sharing her location that will need to be changed.

Weird. As above poster said, your daughter needs to share her location with you, and make the device that shares the location her watch rather than her iPad. However, I can't find a way to switch which device shares her location. I know that a long time ago, I set my iPhone to be the device that shares my location. But seeing this post reminded me I had been wondering if I should switch that to be my watch. So now I tried to do that, but I can't find the option to switch this setting. As I said, weird.
