Hoping someone can help clarify Family sharing. So if I buy an AW with cellular for a family member then add the additional wearable line with my ATT plan any incoming phone calls to my number could also go to the watch? I've talked to ATT and am totally confused I would not want the family member answering calls coming into my line. They don't have a cell phone nor do they need their own separate cell plan. I guess I don't see the point of Family Sharing if I still need to get them a whole new phone number (and a much more expensive cell plan) than just sharing off my plan? The problem I see is I don't want them answering my calls.

Family Setup allows you to use your iPhone to set up an Apple Watch for kids or older adults in your household. The watch can then be used with its own phone number and account. The provider’s cellular service lets you connect your family member’s watch to the cellular network with its own mobile service plan, so the family member can stay connected even without your iPhone nearby.

it also appears the "child" watch doesn't even have to be on the same provider as the main.

#7 - Set up cellular and Wi-Fi

If your iPhone cellular provider supports Family Setup, you can add the watch to your plan. If your carrier doesn’t support it, you might be able to use an alternative carrier. Then you can set up cellular on the watch later.
Next, choose whether to share your current Wi-Fi network with the Apple Watch.

I guess my question is what's the point of family sharing if the person needs to have a completely separate cellular plan/line?

If I get the AW with cellular and have the $10 add on line with my ATT number, can I turn off phone calls coming in to the watch? I only want the watch to track the family member's blue dot.

thanks
