Family Sharing applied retroactively?

If my wife and I are both using Mavericks, and I buy an app that supports Family Sharing, and then we both upgrade later to Yosemite, will she be able to download that app for free?

Yes, if the app developer says it's shareable. Not all apps are.

Thanks! The app is 1Password. Just wanted to make sure buying it on Mavericks won't cause problems, since the Family Sharing feature only works on Yosemite and iOS 8.

EDIT: oops, that app requires Yosemite. Never mind!
