Hello

I have family sharing set up and just got my kid an iPad. I want him to have access to the hundreds of paid apps I’ve purchased over the past ten years, especially games but when my kid and Iopen the App Store on their iPad, it doesn’t show their user ID circled avatar photo anywhere, nor allow anywhere to download already purchased apps. It simply looks like just an App Store where they can download or purchase apps; but I don’t want them to purchase any apps since there’s a good chance I’ve already purchased them on my account. Any guidance is appreciated.

Okay so I was just beside my kid and their iPad and their iPhone as well. On their iPhone we can easily download apps that I, the parent, have purchased in the past 10 years.

As for the iPad, not at all. In fact, not even their photo avatar shows up on the top right corner to allow us to access any apps that they’ve purchased before. However, if in the App Store we search for any app that they’ve downloaded/purchased on their iPhone, it shows up as a search result and allows us to download said app without having to repurchase it. For example, 2 years ago we purchased the Minecraft app on their iPhone and just now we downloaded it on their iPad with ease; we just tapped on the cloud icon with the downward arrow.

I’m attaching photos that I screenshot from my kids iPad, I just don’t know if I’m missing a setting, but I’m usually good at making sure the right check marks are checked.

Again, the goal is for my kid to be able to access all of my purchased apps from their iPad.

From their iPhone this works 100% and is no issue.

Don't you have to set that manually?
Yes, but based on the OPs comments, it seemed pretty likely that they would have done that. Considering the sheer number of settings in that area, it's completely possible to accidentally come up with an unintended result.

OP, the absence of the Account button in App Store (which is what that profile picture in the upper-right represents) is likely due to some combination of Content & Privacy Restrictions. Have you tried turning Content & Privacy Restrictions off altogether to see if it returns? If it doesn't return, I'd suggest doing a force-quit of the App Store and Settings apps - sometimes an app misbehaves and simply needs a restart.

I tried exactly this and ended up showing up again on my kids iPad. Now they can download everything from my purchased history. Thank you!
