Have been running on one Apple ID since iPhone 4. Now on iPhone 7 and 6. Upgraded the wife to iPhone x today.

There was a time we started to get each other’s calls showing up in the logs but shutting off iCloud Drive on hers solves that problem. Now that they allow you to share backup storage space between family. I would like to separate them.

Find my iPhone works on all the family icloud devices so that’s great.

Ive backed up her device on iCloud. But her I cloud drive is shut off. Will that affect the way the apps save their data in the backup?

The backup should contain all the contacts as well I believe.

What’s the best way to set up her new iPhone x as a new Apple ID but also restore data from the shares one?
- restore from old one. Sign out. Sign in as new id and merge?
