iPhone XR Family sharing

Ok, here goes(hopefully makes sense) I have my sons iPad on family sharing, tonight he asked for a game,the usual format wouldnt work,it said up above that it had already been requested and click here to sign in etc, so I did so, putting my own password in,which then sent a verification code to my phone, after which putting in the iPad downloaded the game, but since then it’s not working properly, it’s as though the formats have switched and I’m somehow signed into the iPad when I only want the same format that I had before if that makes sense?please someone able to help?losing my mind with it!
