So, I'm experimenting a bit with manually controlling the fans in my iMac, but the hottest part of my computer (according to iStat) is the airport card. Unfortunately, the 3 fans it will let me control are ODD, HDD, and CPU, which I assume are the optical disk, the hard drive, and the cpu. Does anyone know which one the airport card is closest to? Or if one of these fans will directly cool the airport card?

What is the temperature of your AirPort card?

The fans are actually positioned over a particular component, e.g. CPU. So by adjusting the speed of the CPU fan, it isn't really going to affect any other components.

Right now it's at 137 and the second highest component is the GPU diode at 128. So it's a pretty significant difference.

Oh well, it was worth a shot, I suppose. Thanks for your help. :D

That's roughly 52'C. That's normal. Mine average 45-65'C depending on CPU load.
