And my repair total has reached... well, I lost count. Let's see if I can remember:

1. Screen hinge (LOUD creaking noise)
2. Trackpad (sensitivity loss in clicking -- required a lot of pressure for the click to register)
3. Fan (stopped working; started the night I picked up my laptop from getting trackpad replaced, so I literally went back the next day...)
4. Fan (made loud noise)
5. Screen hinge (creaking noise came back)
6. Fan (same issue as #4; just happened like five minutes ago)

So this brings it to the sixth issue, if I'm not mistaken.

(Btw, this is a late-2008 Aluminum MacBook purchased in Dec 2008.)

And my warranty ran out two weeks ago. I was hoping that I would not face any more issues after getting my screen hinge checked out in December, but in hindsight that was a pretty stupid hope considering my laptop's history.

Ugh... hopefully this problem will be sporadic. I put my computer to sleep just now after hearing the sound and waited a while; once the fan stopped and I woke it up, the sound was gone, but the last time I faced this issue the noise kept coming back eventually regardless of whether I was doing anything intensive or not.

EDIT: Yeah, it just came back. Ugh... does anyone know how much it costs to replace a fan?
