I have a 2017 iMac. Quad core i-7.

Over the past several months, I've noticed the fans spin constantly, even when performing mundane tasks.

My concern is a dirty fan.

Is there any way to clean the fan without taking the sucker apart?

My Apple Care ends this summer, so if there is no sort of "home remedy," I will just lug it to the Apple store and they will surely clean it out after opening it.

I would just LOVE to not have to pack this machine up and take it to the call and risk the parking lot walk.

If it was my machine I would load a fresh install of your OS o a external drive or spare partition just to eliminate a software problem. Also have you checked the temperatures with stat or similar utility?
