Hi all,

As 10.5.7 is coming very soon, I have a little question for you. I am presently using Fan Control on my macbook pro. It works great, now my temps barely go over 70, even when encoding with handbrake. Before, they would go into the mid 90s (celsius) before the fans would start to go up. Also, the fans react instantly when the cpu temp changes which is nice. I am wondering if I should uninstall FanControl and do a SMC reset before the 10.5.7 update or is it should be safe doing the update with the software installed.

I guess it would be fine but juste want to be sure. Now if it was an SMC firmware update, that would be another story...

Nobody can know for sure, but I've had fan control installed ever since I got my MBP, and it's been fine through all of the updates (even the SMC update). I recently uninstalled it because I like having the fans at only 2,000 RPM. It's much quieter.
