Fan control not available on iStat Menu

Is fan control not available on 2015 macbook pros? Basically i have iStat Menu installed (I also had it installed on my old 2010 mbp) and when i click on the fan icon and attempt to adjust fan speed nothing happens. Whereas on my old mac it would immediately change fan speeds based on what I changed it too.

Just wondering if this is normal.

Don't know if this is normal or not, but how about just letting the computer take care of itself? It was programmed to do so.
