I've realised my iMac starts to heat up very fast when playing games on Windows 7, compared to when I'm on OS X, and I'd like to be able to control the fans somehow.

Specs:

iMac 27"
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
ATI Radeon HD 4850
Intel i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz (8 CPUs)
8192MB RAM

I've tried a few options already like SpeedFan and others but none seem to actually recognise my fan hardware, probably because it's an iMac I guess.

Is this a known hardware bug? Can I fix it? What software is available?

I don't want my iMac overheating all the time when it's not even doing anything to strain the CPU/GPU! I think it's definiately a GPU issue because it only overheats on games, and according to SpeedFan my GPU is at 120327 C° which sounds ridiculous...

I don't know if it works, but I found this

http://sourceforge.net/projects/lubbofancontrol/

was not impressed and am using MacFan0_65 instead (it only sets the minimum speed but that can be changed. I am having a number of small batch files on the desktop with different speeds for when I am doing different activities. Normally I let the 2011 i5 2.5Ghz Mac mini run at the server speed of 2300 rpm and that keeps it nicely under control)
