The last few days have been quite hot, and my MDD G4 has crashed a couple of times due to the heat. For some reason, the fans aren't speeding up as the system gets hotter. Is there a setting I need to manually enable or something? Or is it possible that there is a damaged file? I'm pretty sure that I've head of a file called AppleFan.kext or something similar.

When I reboot, the fan speeds up as it should, but once the OS has finished booting it seems to get 'stuck' at the usual speed.

Any ideas?

Thanks :)
