is't normal?

it won't stop. i noticed this after not properly shutting down my macbook pro 17" 2009
for some reason one of my beta application hang in full screen mode
so i cant force quit it. what i did is pressing and holding the power button
then after turn the power on again i hear this fan noise like in my macbook

sound like a bird chirp

I don’t see that causing your fan to run where you can hear it.

What’s the app that froze?

You might try opening Disk Utility and repairing disk permissions, which is the usual go to fix for a lot of things.
