I was just using my MBP, no flash but I was using VLC, and my fan speed just skyrocketed to 6k rpm and my CPU was at 180F. Now I know that flash makes it heat up but I don't think it was VLC because I quit it and my fans are idling around 5-6k rpm..

Have a look at Activity Monitor (Applications / Utilities /) and select All Processes and sort by CPU to see what the culprit may be.
