Hello, I have an iMac 9,1 (the '09 model).

3.06 GHz DC

So I tweaked the fan speed a little to see how cool it can get, but, there's one tiny problem. I used "smcfancontrol_2_1", I can get the speeds up, but not down.

Does someone ha[d]ve the same problem?

Thanks!

To clarify, you turned the fan speeds up with smcFanControl, but when you tried to adjust it back to the default level they stayed up high, right? If so, have you tried downloading v2.2.2 (apparently latest) of smcFanControl? Might be a bug in the 2.1 version you're using. Alternately, try uninstalling smcFanControl, grabbing a different fan adjustment utility, and adjusting with that--it will probably override the mistaken values.

Now, if your question is that the fans are too loud at the default setting and you can't turn them down, then the answer would be "because that could break your computer, try reducing CPU use by disabling Flash or whatever is hitting the CPU hard."

Ok, thanks for your help!
