Hi all this is my first post so sorry if this has been posted before but i have had a look and i can't seem to see it, the question i have is what are the standard pre set fan speeds for a intel core 2 duo 2GHz macbook running leopard version 10.5.5 ? The reason i ask is i downloaded smc fan control and accidently changed the presets without taking note of what they were originally  The other question i have is would you recommend changing the fan speeds and does this effect your apple care warranty? i dont know if this helps but the macbook is a year old in january :/ thanks for all of your help :)

I am pretty sure the default is 1800 RPM.

Fan speed - you only have one ;) Default speed is 2000rpm I believe, although I don't have a MacBook to check (MacBook Pro's are 2000rpm).

Changing the fan speed won't affect your warranty (but don't be daft and leave it running at 6000rpm constantly).

My new Alu MacBook 2.4 sits at 2000rpm......
