I downloaded a couple of system monitoring tools on my new 15" tbMBP and I noticed consistent variances in my two fans.

Here's a screenshot:

I'm assuming this is normal since different stuff that needs different amounts of cooling is located in different parts of the chassis, but I just wanted to get a confirmation.

I think this is done at least in part to reduce the noise peaking at one frequency, which makes it less annoying. It seems to happen regardless of which part of the machine is hot.
