Hi.. I suspect my fan is a little defect. I makes a higher voice.. It used to be total silent, and now it whispers in the top left corner. I have swapped my harddrive to a samsung 320 gb 5400 rpm. Could it be that one that makes the higher whispers?

In case of the fan, how can it be swapped and where to buy it?

does it by any chance tell you that everyone wants to kill you?

Please post your system and the HDD you used to have, download iStat and tell us your exact fan speeds when whispering, and consider downloading SMCFanControl to tweak the settings out of the whispering range. (Preferably up)

The harddisk I had before was the stock 120 gb from the santa rosa 2.2 Ghz.

I have SMC fan control and iStat. And its just at 2000 rpm i can hear.
I think the computer used to be totally silent when I first got it, but i may be wrong.. help me out?

When I sit in front of it I can hear the whisper. Can someone confirm that their Macbook pro 3.1 is silent?
