I am running
Macbook pro mid 2009
Yosemite 10.10.5
Safari 10.1.2
My old macbook is long in the tooth now but for a good while my fans are going nuts when on facebook and taking up a lot of cpu.
It is only happening when on facebook and nothing else.
I have 0 extensions installed in safari.
I have tried an add blocker just incase.
It happens whether I use safari, firefox or chrome.
If I have to tabs open in safari, for example facebook and here and the fans ramp up on facebook, as soon as I switch taps to here they calm down.
I have auto play videos switched off on facebook
Any ideas?

Not to bothered about using it to be honest. I keep in touch with family around the world (Spain, Australia) as well as quite a few VW aircooled clubs around the world not just in the UK which I am not able to see or go to shows.
Not to bothered about what info they get...Ive had worse.
