When I put my Power Mac G3 B&W to sleep, the fans don't turn off. They are the same noise level as when the computer isn't asleep. Are they supposed to stay on? Or do I need to reset something, like maybe pressing the cuda button?

Mine usually stayed on until the computer was cooled down does it constantly stay on or does it turn off eventually?

Pretty sure the fans stay on regardless of whether the computer cools down. Right now, I put it to sleep about 20 mins ago and they're still on.

I think I may have solved the problem. I read that this particular model is not capable of "deep sleep", which is when everything, including fans, drives, etc stop. According to Apple:

While all PowerBook and iBook computers go into "deep sleep" when Sleep
is selected, some older computers do not. Instead, the display turns off
and the hard drive spins down, but many other components (including the
processor) remain on.

Deep sleep is available on these computers:

All PowerBook computers
All iBook computers
Power Mac G4 (AGP Graphics) or later
iMac (Slot Loading) or later

Problem solved. Thanks!
