The only thing I was worried about buying a 2011 MacBook Pro 15" was the battery life - I heard the normal battery life web browsing, bluetooth off, 50% brightness was like 5-6 hours.

My brightness is a couple notches below 50%, but still perfectly readable, running just Safari and Microsoft Word throughout the day, Click2Flash plugin, and adblock extensions, I have been getting 6-8 hours. It basically lasts me a whole day of lectures. Fantastic.

Now the only thing that I wish it had was a 1920x1200 resolution. A third party upgrade solution needs to come out. The screen quality is fantastic, however.

Just a matter of personal preference, but I never worry about battery life when deciding on what laptop model I'm buying next.

I trust Apple engineers to do a good job and I haven't been disappointed yet.

While I've only had this new 15" MBP for a few weeks, as compared to my 2010, even with my heavy usage, the battery life is quite good.
