I have a 18W USB-C Apple wall charger for my iPhone 12. For it to fast charge do you also need the Apple USB-C to lightning cable or any of this type.

It’s just I have an incharge 6 max that has 3 different types at both ends. I’m wondering if this is supposed to work at fast charge speed as doesn’t seem to for me.

*edit just looking at this chart, maybe it doesn’t..what is the fast charge spec?

input output power
USB-A USB-C 9V 2A / 5V 2A
Lightning. 5V 2A / 5V 1A
Micro USB. 5V 2A / 5V 1A

USB-C USB-C 9V 2A / 5V 2A
Lightning. 5V 2A / 5V 1A
Micro USB. 5V 2A / 5V 1A

The USB-C to lightning cable is included in the box when you buy any of the iPhone 12-series. It’s generally advisable to use official cables.

It is yes, but this cable gives so much flexibility for travelling for other uses, any uses really with it having all bases covered. It was just to have 1 cable, but I didn’t realise it didn’t fast charge for those times when need fast boost.

I’ve looked on webpage and they now have a “X” model cable which seems to support fast charging.

The included cable does indeed fast-charge. I have two Apple 20W chargers. Both of which use the same Apple USB-C to lightning cable.
