I was waiting before I posted hoping someone else would bring it up. I noticed in the presentation that "fast charging capable" was listed as one of the features. Is there any information regarding this? I think we all would welcome faster charging right?

Tech specs say "50% in 30 minutes" for 8(+) and X. Power supply included is unknown right now. Hopefully more than 5W.

5W supply is included.

You need to buy another adapter for fast charging: 29W Model A1540, 61W Model A1718, 87W Model A1719

I was also curious that we didn't have much talk of this outside of the event video.

I think it'll likely charge faster with USB-C like the iPad Pros.

Thats idiotic. Wonder how man watts the wireless can do.
Looks like the wireless will be around 7.5w

Quote from belkin's new qi charger:

The 7.5W BOOST↑UP Wireless Charging Pad is capable of faster charging output than standard 5W Qi™ chargers and won’t interfere with other operations of your iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X.

Lightning isn't the limiting factor. Battery size actually determines charge rate. In general a 2000mah battery can charge at 2 amps safely.

I was referring to the Lightning - to - USB-C cable and USB-C brick for charging like the MacBook and iPad Pros can use.
