Fast charging

I bought the 30W fast charger and cord. I know it’s compatible with my iPhone X But not with my iPad Pro 9.7.

Questions:

So will it totally not work with the iPad or will it charge fine but not fast charge? Will it do the iPad battery any harm?

Is fast charging any worse for the iPhone’s battery than regular charging or wireless charging?
