Hi All,

Got an ARC-1880 installed in my Mac Pro 2,1 and getting a weird problem with it. Once the mac starts properly it works perfectly well, getting 1GB/sec read/writes consistently, seems solid enough.

However getting it to boot is another story, most of the times the Mac won't start. Instead of the usual double beep from the Areca card I get nothing and the Mac starts doing a fast chirping sound with the LEDs on the Memory Cards blinking rapidly. If I power it off and on several more times and some times wiggle the card a bit it eventually boots. Turn it off or put it to sleep and then on start up it starts the chirp again.

I'm guessing its a dud card but wanted to check with folks to see if anyone had this issue with that card or knew what the chirping is supposed to signify (bad PCI-e connection or something else)?
