Apple retail really needs a moral boost, and having Ahrendts run both retail and online is smart because there is tension between the two groups (online feels inferior). Also in the past Jony Ive has criticized Apple's retail approach as "selling too hard" and that the products should sell themselves.
I'll be very interested to see how Ahrendts changes Apple retail and even corporate culture. I think she might be a breath of fresh air that Apple needs right now.
