Well I was at a friend of me and he opened programs with a simple click on his keyboard. I asked him how he did that and he said he had this programs where you can these setting to fast open a program.
F.e. when he pressed 'F', Firefox opened.

So, do any of you guys now what this programs is called?

Why don't you ask your friend?

I don't think I like the idea of Firefox opening every time I press the 'F' key - damn, it opened Firefox four times there ... crap, three more times.

I suspect he may have been using Quicksilver ... I believe you can set keyboard shortcuts with it.

You can also just use Spotlight. Command-Space and type a few letters from the program name. Assuming spotlight finds the correct app as it's "Top Hit" just hit enter to launch (or switch to it if it's already running)
