Just thought I'd create a thread about my order.
Ordered an iphone 4 on the 16th of September. Originally supposed to ship on the 5th October and be delivered by the 12th.

So some of you guys in Canada who can't get an iphone 4 from the store might try your luck in the online store as the wait doesn't seem to really be 3 weeks.
 
Fedex seems to be on steroids.
It's departing the fedex location in anchorage, alaska after only 4 hours :D

well it's shipping to fam in canada who will then be shipping it to me in Trinidad. Pics will be posted but it'll be a while before I get it in my hands.
 
I ordered mine from AT&T September 1st and received on the 2nd. If you can order from your carrier it's likely you will receive it quicker.

My order was submitted for an IP4 32GB yesterday with AT&T at 4PM. at 11PM EST I got shipment notification. It's already in my town, and set for delivery tomorrow!

Ok so there's a new update which I don't understand.

It now says it's in Mississauga but there's a clearance delay with no details.

Does anyone know anything about this????:confused:

I think it has to do with Customs clearance:confused:

I've had delays like that on things at the border before, usually only puts it off by a day or two.
 
I ordered the 16 gig. Didn't figure on needing 32 gig. Still hasn't done anything. Waiting for the shipment. Internet banking indicates the payment hold is there, but has not actually charged yet, just memo posted with a hold for the transaction amount. But still now shipping email! :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:


Just have to hurry up.... and wait. Which I am no good at. Sigh!

You're right. I called Fed ex and was told that it is indeed customs holding up clearance. I was also told it could take anywhere from a day to THREE MONTHS for certain items to clear.

However the rep also said that this delay is not out of the norm and that if additional documentation was required they'd contact me or Apple.

Has anyone else ordered an item from Apple shipping straight from the factory in China to a residence in Canada and encountered this clearance delay before?

If so how long did it take to clear and were there any other problems?
 
Ok here's another update.
Apparently Fedex's tracking site doesn't update with all the details available.

On this site it shows that my package has in fact been released from customs! On Fedex's normal tracking site it shoes no update besides the clearance delay from 12 hours ago.

I think there's a bit of a misunderstanding about the free cases. Today is the last day you can buy the iPhone 4 and get a free case. I believe you still have 30 days to pick one.

Regardless, Apple has stated they will still give you a case (I believe only the bumper now, no choice) if you call Applecare and tell them you have reception problems. So if you want a free bumper, even if you purchased your phone after Sept. 30, all you have to do is call Applecare.
