Just as I've done with my previous 3 MacBook Pros, I followed the instructions in THIS XDA THREAD to setup ADB/Fastboot commands on my new 13" MacBook Pro w/touch bar. After doing the setup, ADB recognizes and communicates with my Google Pixel perfectly fine. But as soon as I type "fastboot devices" or any fastboot commands in terminal the whole computer locks up and becomes unresponsive until I manually power it off and turn it back on. This happens whether the phone is plugged into the computer via USB or not.
I tried going through the setup a couple of times to no avail. I even did a clean install of Mac OS on the machine and tried it again with the same result.
Now, here is the interesting part. I initially bought a 2016 13" MacBook Pro without the touch bar and used the same exact setup method to get ADB and Fastboot working. ADB and Fastboot commands performed flawlessly on that machine. However, I decided to exchange the non-touch bar version for the higher spec'd one with the touch bar. It's only with the touch bar version of the computer that Fastboot commands lock it up.
So I'm assuming that there is something going on with the touch bar's integration into the system, which is preventing fastboot functionality from working properly.
I initially posted this over on XDA, but that forum has grown to be pretty useless as of late. I know posting here is a bit of a long shot but I figured there had to be someone over here who happens to have a new touch bar MBP and also uses Fastboot/ADB commands to work with their Android phone.
