Fastest 3G Firmware

I'm holding off for a new phone under the iphone 5 and/or GS2 is released. I just picked up a used 3G and am wondering what the fastest firmware is for it. I don't really need the added features of iOS4.

The phone is currently running 4.2.1. Also, I intend on jailbreaking the device.

iOS 3.1.3 is best for the 3G.

I just put 3.1.3 on mine and it's much more useable.
