I wish there was a 4TB SSD drive that I could replace my current one (Samsung T4) that I keep in my wallet.

So far I can’t see one that size. Are there any choices yet in this capacity?

Is the SanDisk Extreme able to fit in a wallet?

Well, just compare the dimensions of that drive to your current one:

I doubt you're going to find ANY "SSD" that will fit into a wallet.
Into your "pocket", yes, but -- NOT into a wallet.

Perhaps you could do it with an SD card.
But then, speed and most certainly "capacity" are going to come into play.

The Samsung T series fits in my wallet and not even noticeable. I just read in the other thread they finally have a 4TB version coming soon 😎

I am familiar with the Samsung T3, T5 and T7 but never heard of a T4. Anyway, all of the above would fit in my wallet but it would certainly bulge! 😀 They are similar in size to (maybe) 8 credit cards stacked on top of each other. I also saw that other thread about a 4tb T-series SSD, and that would be great.

Yes it is T5 I forgot the number 😂 Doesn’t bulge much. Don’t even notice it.

Just curious, since in post 2 I posted the exact dimensions of a drive you asked about. Are those dimensions the same or smaller than the one that fits in your wallet?

Looks like Sandisk drive is much longer than Samsung T series so I’m not going to get it. The T7 drive is the best option.

The Sandisk comes in two models with USB 10 gbps and USB 20 gbps speeds. Macs don’t support the second one yet our USB 4 maxes at 10 gbps.

I have a Samsung t7 "Shield".
It's almost the size of my wallet.
It certainly wouldn't fit inside it.

But still... the t7 is quite "pocket-sized".
(then again... where are you going to put the connecting cable...?)

My wallet is the right size. The reason I was doing this is because I would clone my Mac to my drive and then go to my client office and boot my drive on the Mac Pro they had there. That way I could carry on working between two workstations in two locations. All the project files and system configuration would be exactly like I want it. I wasn’t allowed to add user accounts and software licenses on the client office computer so I just boot my clone.

Even today I sometimes still do this with my Mac Studio. The 10 gbps drive speed isn’t a penalty. The most important thing is I can have a workstation in two locations with lots of ram and cores.

Then you use a far fatter wallet than the average person. My Samsung T5 is larger than my Trove wallet.

Your options are going to be extremely limited. Just buck up and carry a man purse satchel or a sling pack and you'll have far more options.

My wallet is normal one fold wallet the photo is above. The difference between me and average person is that I only have two cards one debit card and one driver license and I don’t use cash. I don’t have a stack of credit cards and dont have any debts or repayments. So the wallet fits two cards and the Samsung SSD perfectly. I can’t even remember using these two cards I just keep them in the wallet in case.
