For the iPhone 12 line, to get the fastest charging speed from a car charger, does it need to be a newer model with USB-C charging??

Edit - I think I figured it out. You need a car charger that has at least a 20w charge on one plug plus a USB-C to Lightning cable.

FWIW, I picked up a Belkin 20w adapter. Had the same power profile as the 20w Apple wall charger, so should allow the MagSafe in using with it to charge at the full 15w.

With the Belkin just watch out as there’s a lot of 18w units out there still.

Any 20w car charger works. I have an Aukey usb-c charger and an choetech usb-c. Both work fine. I’ve also used it to charge a laptop albeit slowly as well.
