Fastest way to transfer photos from iPhone 14 to External SSD

What is the fastest way to transfer 400 gb of photos/videos from an iPhone 14 ProMax to a external SSD? I have been using image capture on my macbook air and dragging files directly from the phone to the SSD but it is a slow process. Is there a faster way?
