I have my memory stick formatted in the Mac OS X journeyed file system because everything else sucks and is slow.

Occasionally, I have some files to give to a friend who uses a PC, so I format it as the FAT filesystem in Disk Utility. But Windows always declares it corrupt and will only give the option to format it, deleting the files I want to give to my friend(s). This has happened on all versions of Windows I've tried (98, XP, Vista and 7).

Is there any way to fix this, or an alternative program I could format my memory stick(s) with until Apple fix the problem?

The problem isn't the filesystem. It's the drive's partition scheme. Windows requires that an MBR partition scheme be used, since it doesn't understand GPT and APM. This is easily fixed in Disk Utility, if you don't mind formatting the flash drive again.
