Has anyone else experienced really poor battery life on the Ultra. Charged it up to full capacity last night at 11pm, and it’s now 5:35 and watch is on 7 per cent. I haven’t used it for anything today other than checking the time a few times.

The battery is far worse than my Series 7.

I called Apple and their aftercare customer service is, once again, appalling. Sending back for a refund.

Honestly, don't worry about battery life during the first week. Now, after the first week, if the battery life is still awful, then contact Apple Care Support.

Additionally, wondering if it was on the charger properly.

It takes about a week or two, to get used to your use case...

Nope, I mean I lost 7 percent overnight, basically over 8 hours in bed and it was sleep tracking, but I can live with that easy. Threw it on charger while I showered and it was up over 90%. Two hours later of just doing laundry and running to store… still at 90%. Very impressive.

sorry for your bad luck

Are you sure it charged to 100%? What charger did you use? And is 5:35 am or pm?
Check background app refresh settings and apps you have installed. Also look at the battery graph…

PM, so essentially 18/19 hours and battery was dead, although I only used it to tell the time.

I used the fast charger that came with it.

Thanks for the tips, will give it a go now!

and if you havn't done it yet - install 9.01
did you set it up as new or restore from a backup? I installed it as new and it copied every app that supports AW from my phone, I un-installed most of them ("Show this app on watch - turn that off and it will un-install).
are you using cellular?

Another thing to try is remove all your 3rd party watch apps and reboot and see if that helps with battery life.

I updated the watch to 9.01 as soon as I got it and restored from a backup of my S7. Great pointer re. installing as new, thanks! I’ve also disabled app refresh.

I have a cellular plan, but haven’t taken advantage of it yet.

Thanks again!

Yeah, was definitely on the charger properly. I saw it had reached full charge before I took it off and wore it, just in case I needed to give it a little bit of a boost to function as it should.

Thanks for the tip on waiting a while.
