I'm pretty sure the HD in my new mid-2010 MBP is faulty. I bought it in June, so it's well within warranty.

The earliest appointment I can get at the Apple Store where I bought it (the only Apple Store within 500 miles) Friday 8th October. They have told me on the phone they have a backlog of work and wouldn't be able to replace the drive that day.

Will I be quicker to phone Apple tomorrow and have Apple Care collect then return it?

What's everyone's experience of returning MacBooks for repair/replacement?

Cheers
