Hi,

For sometime now my iPhone 4 has had a faulty home button. My problem is that its intermittent so this is the reason i have not taken it back to Apple to report this, although i have read on here its a known issue.

It seems to be getting worse but my iPhone is out of warranty. My question is do you think Apple will exchange this or will i have to pay?

Thanks for any advice given :)

You'll probably be offered a $199 replacement.

Who knows though! Sometimes geniuses are nice and I really don't think Apple's corporate policy is that strict regarding replacements judging by all the free OOW replacements we hear about.

That's why getting Apple Care is worth it. You can get on eBay or Amazon for $45-$55.
