Faulty iphone need help

Hi All, my iPhone 4G dropped into water and after i dismantle everything and dry it, now i can power on with power cable attached, but when i pull out the sync/power cable, the phone immediately switched off, can anyone advice which part i should replace in this situation?

Sounds like the battery to me. But I'm not positive. It's hard to say without actually looking at the device.
