NorCal boonies ~~~by Reno sorta
Since I now own three (don't hate on the B&W, it has a 450MHz G4!) Power Mac G4's powered by a G4, it's pretty cool to sort of have a collection of them. I know I'm missing a Quicksilver but the Digital Audio can be called a Old Body Style with new power under the hood!

My favorite is the MDD by far (after fan replacements), what's yours?

Completely spaced on the Cube model, thanks Intell!

Quicksilver. Just something about the design of the front I have always liked.

You're both mad: graphite, all day long. Nice to see you've got a proper one with a Zip drive. Adaptec 2906 card in the back too, I hope?

Digital Audio. It was my first tower and the first Mac I customized on my own.

eta: I have two MDDs but the windtunnel effect ruins them for me. I like their layout but the noise is a killer.

I'm all about the MDD. It just looks fantastic. It's the most upgradable of the G4 line in my opinion, and conveniently takes DDR memory (convenient as I have rather a lot of it from scrapping old PCs!).

I'm not so fond of the noise though

QS is the prettiest and MDD is the fastest, but it is TOO loud and another problem of MDD is power supply.

QS front and the rest of the design of G3 B&W with G4 logo...... :)

The Winner is Quicksilver 2002 - Dual 1GHz, 1.5GB, GF4 Ti.....

This is a tough call between the MDD and QS. I've got 2 MMD towers, so I can really appreciate how beautiful the inside AND outside really are. When you compare the inside layout of a MDD to the Blue and White G3 or early G4, its incredible to see how they made this thing fit an additional optical drive and 4 HDD's in the box without making it any taller or wider. Now the QS was just fantastic looking. I love the look of the power button on those. I had one that I used for a while that was a dual 800, but it wasn't actually mine to do with as I pleased, so I never really spent any time using it. Maybe its time to add one to the collection.

Good call on the Cube! I guess if we're talking favorite G4 PowerMac, then the Cube is a top winner, but if it's mini tower G4, I have to go with the MDD. The G4 really powered some great systems. Many of my favorite Mac's had a G4 chip inside them including the Cube, TiBook, MDD, iMac G4, and 12" PowerBook G4.

The only G4 I have is a Mac Mini, so I guess my favourite is the Mac Mini. :D

The QuickSilver is by far the nicest system to go along with an Apple Studio Display. I definitely prefer the QuickSilver to the graphite models. That being said, the MDDs are not bad either...

For me, the most beautiful is the Power Mac G4 Cube with its Apple studio display. I currently have one 500MHz Cube with a 17" Apple Studio Display and I love them! ;)
The best will be a SSD inside and it will become totaly quiet.

It's a nice mod. Not my cup of tea, as I really like how Apple had it, but as case mods go it's a nice mod.

Graphite is the model...G3 is the colour

It was an error from Apple to stay grey... After all the iMac wonderful colours Apple went to a Black and White cinema after seen a colourfull 3D movie...

I have a Digital Audio with the fastest original CPU from a QS'02 (GHZ dual)

I love the front of the QS and MDDs, but my DA is really quiet compared to the MDDs.

Also the CPU fans from QS make them "noisy". I modded my DA with an 12cm fan that is quieter than all QS fans.

I do not like that you can touch the speaker on QS/MDD.

My G3 B&W is the quietest and colourfull tower PowerMac ever made
