Hey all,

This is my first post here and I'm very thankful for macRumors for this forum.

This is a peculiar problem I'm facing for the past week or so. Whenever I try to 'Open File' from any application (Eg: Safari, Pages, Photoshop etc), I cannot see the favorites in the Finder window's sidebar. Every time I drag and drop the folders I wish to open frequently, but it disappears the next time I use the 'Open File' option.

Any suggestions on making the favorites stick to the side bar by default?

TIA!

Finder>Preferences, Uncheck all boxes in the Favorites section, Restart the computer, then go back to Finder>Preferences and reselect all the "Favorites" you wish to have appear. Verify desired behavior in Finder first. Then test in other apps.

Thats just a start, let me know if it did/didn't fix it.. .there are other things that can be attempted to clear this issue..
