I think my macbook has a built in modem (has a phone jack, why else). Is this a fax modem as well? If it is I can't seem to find the fax software on the laptop. What is it called or where can I get the software very cheap or free?

Thanks

if your macbook has a phone jack then it has a modem. The modem will send faxes when connected to a phone line.

I am trying to set this up right now and to answer your question, you can fax directly from the print screen. You click on PDF on the lower left, then click on Fax PDF.

I just tried doing that and it seems straight forward but when I try to fax, it get put on hold and the fax queue says "On Hold, Authentification Required" Does anyone know what this means?

thanks

I believe the "phone jack" you're seeing is the Ethernet port.

To my knowledge, the Macbooks do not have a built-in modem.
