I have a full version of Final Cut Studio 2. Instead of buying an upgrade, I bought a full version of Final Cut Studio 3. My copy of 2 was an academic copy, thus was not eligible for an upgrade.

When I install 3, please tell me it's going to "upgrade" and not install a whole second set of everything my machine. Please?

I would recommend to remove your prior version of FCS since your not really upgrading it. Here is a great tool that will remove virtually all traces of FCS 2: http://www.digitalrebellion.com/fcs_remover.htm Then just go a head and do a clean install on the new FCS.

I'm am upgrading from FCS 2 so I have no need to remove my prior version.

Done. Thanks for your help.

One thing to note: If you uninstall and reinstall, you lose LiveType, as it is no longer included with Final Cut Studio. You can, however, do a custom install with your FCS 2 disks, and install only LiveType.
