I'm having a couple problems with FCE 4, running on an i5 2.4 GHz MacBook pro. Just a few days ago I was using a 2 GHz MacBook, but I had these problems on that machine as well.
Problem 1:
I have a horrible audio screech when I export a video. This usually happens when I choose Export > Quicktime Movie, but it also sometimes happens with a Quicktime Conversion. Here's a sample: http://www.mediafire.com/?x00j26gudt14ie0
My audio levels are all under -6, so I don't think that's the problem.
Problem 2:
I get video lines when I place a video on top of another layer. I first ran into this trying to add a muzzle flash effect from Detonation Films. When I choose multiply as the composite mode, it's fine when playing in FCE, but no matter how I export it, it looks horribly noticeable. Here's a sample:
This is all with M-JPEG and AVCHD footage from a Panasonic GH1, BTW.
