Okay, whenever I try to capture a standard def. dv tape from my Canon XH A1, it displays the message "Unable to initialize video deck".
At this point I would have no way of knowing if it were Final Cut or the camera not working, BUT my sony HandyCam works just fine on the same machine (intel iMac running Snow Leopard).
So this would (logically) lead me to believe that it was the Canon acting up.
Here comes the twist!
On my work computer (intel iMac running Leopard) the Canon cannot capture to Final Cut Express, BUT IT CAN go into iMovie HD6!
So now this would lead me to believe that it is a Final Cut setting that is messed up!!!!
And yes, I know that one is Leopard and one is Snow Leopard, but this problem started happening about a month AFTER i got Snow Leopard.
So I don't think it's the OS.
And I googled it, and tried everything I found to no avail.
Help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!
