I give a lot of PowerPoint presentations with embedded video. The source of these videos is usually .mov files out of Final Cut Express, or sometimes Snapz Pro. I'm not happy with the quality of .mov -> .avi conversion and I'd prefer to use MPEG-1.

Any suggestions on a good quality converter? I'd prefer a Quicktime Pro or Final Cut express plug-in, but I'd take what I can get.

Thanks for the replies. Compressor 3 isn't available as a standalone product, otherwise that would be great - especially if it integrated with Final Cut Express. I can convert to .avi from Quicktime Pro, but I'd rather use mpeg-1. I'll look at VLC. It looks like a player client only, but I'll have to see if it will do the export transcoding...thanks.
