I've searched around and could not find much about this. In Final Cut Express, whenever I try to export a DV video as H.264 video, even if I select to keep the same dimensions it always stretches out the pixels so the video is wider than it should be. Anyone know why this happens and how to fix it? Thanks.

I don't have FCE at hand, but have you checked the (pixel) aspect ratio?

What aspect ratio has your sequence and footage and what aspect ratio do you use to export?

Have you tried exporting as a .mov video with DV as codec and then used MPEG Streamclip to transcode the video to a .mov/.mp4 using the H264 codec?

the footage was 4:3. I found the solution though, I had to export as "NTSC 720x480 4:3".
