I've been using FCE HD 3.0 with the new c2d macbook pro and it seems to run just like my dual G5 2.0 w/ 2 gigs of ram. Actually it seems to run abit faster. I am going to try to bog it down and see what it does. This is all I have right now, I will have to wait awhile on the FCE HD 3.5, but so far so good. Pretty darn smooth.
