FCE help: Capturing a long clip, and cutting into small exportable clips

so im kinda new to FCE and i captured a whole DV tape full of footage. So i have a clip of 45 some minutes full of footage that i am playing in the viewer. I use the "I" and "O" buttons to create a clip. I then drag it into the time line and its the "cut" clip that i wanted. But now i want to export this to put into a new folder and title it. but when i drag it back into the "bin" area it is the full length clip.

How do i make it so that when i put the clip i cut into the "bin" its the new length of the actual clip?

Moving clips between bins will always preserve the original captured video. So, here's what you want to do:

Create a new sequence with matching settings and copy/paste the cut section to it. Then, export the new sequence as a Quicktime movie using the same settings. From here, you can import the newly exported clip to the bin of your choosing. Done.
