FCE shuts down automatically before it's even finished starting up.

Pretty much as the title suggests. I've been trying to use Final Cut Express (3.5.1) on my iBook (which is running Leopard) but it quits automatically halfway through starting up. I don't even get an error message telling me the app quit unexpectedly. Is there an easy solution for this?

maybe backup and delete the preference file. It might be corrupt.
